The Vortex is a special event phenomenon that only appears during the Halloween Event. The Vortex appears in specific spots around Jorvik and players can follow it to the place it touches down to collect pieces of soul shards to turn in to the cauldron at Galloper's Keep.
Function[]
The vortex appears in one of several locations, somewhere on Jorvik multiple times a day from 7:00 to 23:00, at which point it will disappear and not be available until the next day. The vortex is extremely large and is hard to miss if standing in an open area with a clear view of the sky. Once spotted, a player can follow the vortex to the location it is touching down on. Should a player not currently have access to the area the vortex is located at, they will have to wait until the vortex reappears in an area accessible to them.
Note: The vortex may not be visible when a player first logs in, if the player cannot see the vortex, they must wait until the next time change for the vortex to become visible.
Once at the vortex's location the player must interact with the ghost who will then scatter 20 pieces of a soul shard around the area. Once all 20 pieces are collected, the player will receive a single soul shard.
Note: Some shards are in difficult locations, like up on trees or hiding inside rocks. If you cannot reach these shards, log out and in again. They’ll have changed place.

The vortex runs on a specific 20-minute schedule in tandem with time shown on the clock in Silverglade Village, representing the server's timezone. Players must go to the clock, check the time presented and match it to the time on the schedule. Alternatively, the player can press the "V" key in game and select the "Championship Schedule" to see the servers time.
