- The Dinosaur is most likely a type of Mosasaur, a class of marine reptiles that appeared during the Late Cretaceous period or a Pliosaur, a class of swimming reptiles related to sea turtles that appeared during the Jurassic and Cretaceous period.
- It is likely that the extremely low temperatures and (possibly) dry climate of the Valley has allowed the bones to remain relatively un-damaged and stopped decomposition.
