Star Coins (informally shortened to SC) are one of the two currencies in Star Stable Online. Star Coins cannot be obtained in-game; they can only be bought from the game's official website. Star Riders receive 100 Star Coins every Friday until the player's subscription runs out. The only ways of obtaining Star Coins for free are the 100 Coins given upon account creation and sometimes through Redeem Codes.
Star Coins are used for buying horses, pets, clothes, horse tack, using the services of the veterinarian, buying stable care, switching to a new home stable, starting riding clubs, changing appearance and hair, and staying at hostels/hotels (skipping the in-game day so "next-day" quests can be done immediately).

- On September 2nd, 2022, both the Star Coins and Jorvik Shillings icons were changed on both Desktop and Mobile.
- Although the max limit for Jorvik Shillings is 10,000 JS, there is no limit on Star Coins.
- A non-Star Rider can also obtain Star Coins by using codes that are given out by SSO on special occasions or by buying them on the official website.
- Players could formerly obtain Star Coins by recruiting a friend, however this has since been discontinued.
- Star Coins were previously known as Star Cash.
- Star Coins are the only currency that horses can be purchased with.
