Pets are a game mechanic that allows an animal or inanimate object to ride in the player's saddlebag and/or follow them.
Walking pets are able to be placed in a saddlebag or follow them. Walking pets includes dogs, cats, Mistfoxes, and penguins. There are also flying pets like the seagulls, owls and the limited time panda rays. Saddlebag pets are only able to ride in a saddlebag. However, they are typically less expensive than walking pets.
On certain occasions and in some shops, there are special items that can be put into the saddlebag. These include various teddy bears, flowers, plushies, various foods, and other non-living items. Although they are saddlebag pets, not walking pets, it is still nice to customize the horse with those items.
Some pets are obtainable for free through quests, such as the Crafty Owl. Other limited-time free pets may be obtainable via redeem codes on special events such as the Birthday Event or Winter Festival.
