Camp Western lunging minigame
Lunging is an activity available in Star Stable Online.
History[]
The first lunging activity was released as part of the 2023 Camp Western event, at the round pen in Starshine Ranch.[1] Star Stable said that they were planning to add it permanently to the game after receiving feedback from players.[2]
It is currently unavailable, however will likely be added as a permanent activity sometime in the future.
Mechanics[]
Lunging is a horse training and exercise method that involves the horse moving in circles around the player. In the game, upon entering the lunging activity, the player can control the horse by using the WASD keys (D to increase gait, A to reduce gait, S to switch to inner circle, W to switch to outer circle) on desktop, or buttons on mobile. The horse may slow down, speed up, or move to a different circle on its own. It also may not listen to the player's commands. This is influenced by the horse's level and discipline stat.[3]
Minigame[]
During Camp Western, there is a lunging minigame available that rewards Horse XP and Summer Tokens. It uses the same mechanics as usual lunging, but incorporates checkpoints where the player must make sure that the horse is in the right circle and gait. The amount of successful checkpoints influences the rewards received.
Trivia[]
- The horse cannot back up, fast gallop, jump, or do its special gait/move (if applicable) during lunging.
- All tack except the horse's bridle disappears while lunging.
