Laverna is a magic horse breed that is available in Star Stable Online.

Description[]
"The veil between worlds grows thin around Halloween, allowing spirits to travel to other planes. Laverna was one of these, though no one knows when she first crossed over.
When she arrived on Jorvik she was a mere wisp and a mask. But Laverna is a powerful soul, and before long she created a solid body in the shape of a created she saw around Jorvik that was suitable for her interests. Disguised as a horse, she got up to all kinds of mischief, preferring the "trick" in "trick or treat."
Laverna fashioned her body after an American Paint Horse; she likes the splashy colors even when concealing her magical coat and mask. She employs nighttime and shadow as cover for thievery. Mischief is her entertainment, so be prepared to keep an eye on her!"
Unique Features[]
Color Changing[]
The Laverna is a magical horse with the special ability to change colors. When the player presses the "h" key or the magic horse icon on the horse's character sheet, the horse will change from its neutral colors to its natural (magic) colors and vice versa. The horse will not change colors during races or while the player is unmounted.
The Reining Spin[]
Note: The horse must reach level 7 to perform this move.
The Laverna can perform a special move called the Reining Spin. The animation can be activated by pressing the space bar, but only when standing still, otherwise the horse will jump instead of performing the move.
The Reining Slide Stop[]
While all of the horses in star stable will technically come to a "Hard stop" if the player presses the "X" button when in a full gallop, the Laverna has a special stop method found in western reining. When it is in full gallop, and the player goes for a hard stop, the horse will instead perform a "Slide stop."
The Reining Back Up[]
While all of the horses in Star Stable will back up if the payer presses the "down arrow" or "S" buttons when at a standstill, the Laverna has a special backing method found in western reining. When it is standing still and the player goes to back up, the horse will instead perform a "Reining Back Up," which is much faster than the regular backing up speed of other breeds.
Colors, Pricing, and Location[]
Purple Masked Skeleton to Seal Brown Tobiano
The Laverna is sold for 850 SC and can be purchased during Halloween in the Galloper's Keep. It comes in one variation.
Note: This horse is released for limited periods of time and is not always in the game.
- Natural color: Dapple Purple body with skeletal ribcage and legs, skeletal mask with two sets of horns, and lilac mane and tail.
- Neutral color: Seal Brown Tobiano
Trivia[]
- Laverna, like most other Magic Horses, cannot have its hairstyle changed.
- The Laverna uses the G3 American Paint Horse model.
- The name Laverna first appeared as the name of the Roman goddess of thieves, cheaters, and the underworld. The name's meaning is unknown, but several explanations root the name in Latin terms such as latere, lavare, and levare. All of which are roots associated with thievery and profit.[6]
- While the Laverna is described as female within the in-game description, players can still choose to label the horse as a gelding or stallion in the customization settings.
- The mask on the Laverna's magical coat is slightly raised, so most bridles will go under it. However, bosal bridles appear to clip into it slightly.
