Fishing is a game mechanic where players can catch fish, usually for reputation or Jorvik Shillings which is first introduced to the player by Mr. K. Trout. There are two fishing factions in the game which is the Jorvik Fishing Club and the Jorvik Fishing Club – Southern Chapter. Please see these articles for details, locations and rewards for the fishing quests.
Catching Fish[]
Once the player has bought a fishing rod from Mr. Loop at Cape West Fishing Village as part of the fishing introductory quest, they can drag the rod to any marked location and begin fishing. The fishing rod is a permanent quest item and can be used infinitely.
After this quest, the rod is no longer available and instead, players can buy new clothing items and gear from Mr. Loop’s stores found near Mr. Pike, Mr. Cod and Mr. K. Trout. Some items require a certain reputation with the two fishing factions to unlock.
To fish, players must first accept a quest from one of the fishermen and go to the marked location. Once at the location, the player can simply drag the fishing rod from their inventory to the marked spot and begin fishing. The camera angle can be adjusted, and the inventory can be closed for a clearer view. To successfully catch a fish, the player needs to wait until their cursor becomes the shape of a fish and click the red bait once it has been submerged completely by the water. This may take a few tries.
