ALL POSTSFastest Horse In SSO?
<p>I know that there aren’t a lot of active people on this Wiki, but I still figured I’d try posting here.
</p><p>Recently I’ve been trying to compile information on horses in SSO in a quest to find out which horses are the fastest. I know that none of them are necessarily faster than the other, but what I also know is that their animations have different speeds. Meaning that some have faster jump times, better precision, or just a leg up in galloping altogether.
</p><p>Based on other posts on websites like Amino and SS Forums, I found the three that people seem to believe are the fastest:
</p><p>- Morgans
</p><p>- Arabian Thoroughbreds
</p><p>- American Quarter Horses
</p><p>Though I have seen others like the English Thoroughbred, Fjord Horse, Icelandic, and the Paint Horse come into the vote, the top three were typically those.
</p><p>Now, I know that races are not the best way to measure this - so I had an even better idea:
</p><p>The Soul Rider tests. Especially the Jump Carousel (yes, the one with the circular saw that follows you) and the Precision test.
</p><p>Unfortunately, I don’t have any of the following horses, and am really only doing this to figure out which one I should buy (selfish, I know), but if anybody has any sort of input, that would be great.

<p>My morgan and quarter are about the same speed, I think it doesn't matter that much. I would pick a newer horse I like, as the movements are better and if you think the horse is ugly you may end up never using it exept for championships.

<p>Yep. The only difference is the jump reset. American Quarter Horses (and maybe Morgans, though I don’t have a Morgan, so I wouldn’t know) reset themselves in their jump animations, unlike the better animations out there that do a full jump. This makes it faster in races, as it doesn’t have the slow movements to get them back into position. </p><p>I dunno. I have an AQH and would like a Morgan. It’s fine now (though it would be cool to really know which one was the fastest). </p>

<p>As you stated in the beginning, absolutely no horses are actually faster than any other in-game. I have horses from Clydesdales to Chincoteagues and can/have won multiple times on every single one. Of course champing is basically all I do in-game at my level (22 as of writing this). So it would be sad for me to have all these lovely horses and not use them all.
</p><p>You are correct however with the AQH model. That particular model has a slightly faster jump and recovery animation which can give players a slight edge. The Morgan and Arabian/Pintabian, both appear to exhibit tighter turns which can also give players a very small advantage. I would like to point out that SSO has caught on to the AQH's jump and has slowed down the animation for the AQH, but the Appaloosa and Paint using the same model have not yet been affected. The thing I find most often with people using these particular models is that they like them because they are all pretty thin and small on the screen which can help with gauging jump distance, and turns.
</p><p>However the horse really isn't the issue. You won't be getting any easy wins by just using a particular horse. It really comes down to:
</p><p>1. How well you know the track and it's shortcuts (I recommend watching youtube videos of shortcuts multiple times until memorized)
</p><p>2. How well you know your horse's particular model, hit-box, and animations
</p><p>3. Having the most optimized gear and tack,
</p><p>4. Making sure your horse's level is maxed and has the green (inspired) emoticon
</p><p>5. Practice, practice, PRACTICE!
</p><p>I can't tell you how many times users have tracked me down and accused me of cheating because I win so often, especially on horses that are not the ones you've listed. They don't seem to understand that winning is not as easy as just using a "faster" horse. SSO may be a “kid’s” game but there is a lot more strategy to winning champs than people realize.
